To say that I’m excited about this weekend is an understatement. Liz and Jim will be saying their I Do’s in historic, downtown Annapolis. The photographer in me is thrilled at the artistic possibilities and the story my lens will capture, but it’s the friend in me that is giddy to the core. It was a weeknight last September when they drove down from NJ for their engagement session at Combsberry Inn. I was feeling a bit of stress with them coming from so far away. Hoping the weather would cooperate and things would go smoothly. A “do over” wasn’t going to be possible with Liz getting her braces on a week later. What I didn’t expect was for them to almost instantly put me at ease. Or that we would make a connection so quickly and easily. Liz is like a sister from another mother. A kindred spirit. Her emails, texts and Facebook messages over the past year have brightened my day, made me laugh and often times fueled my inner geek. Jim, well he is as cool as a cucumber, funny, a stellar golfer and most importantly…he adores Liz. There was such a tender and warm manner in their togetherness. These photos say the rest.
